Young Song was drawn to KeepTruckin by the caliber of people that she spoke to and met with during her interview process with KeepTruckin. Hi Young! Can you tell us a little about yourself?

My name is Young Song and I am the Director of Deal Desk here at KeepTruckin. I support Sales with Deal Strategies and partner with other teams to build integrated deal systems and processes.

What does feminism mean to you?

To me, feminism means acknowledging and appreciating the differences of being a woman but being limitless in what we can accomplish.

Who inspires you?

I immigrated to the US with my family from Seoul, Korea when I was 10 years old. My parents left a comfortable middle-class life in order to provide a better life and more opportunities for their children. I am a thankful recipient of their vision, sacrifice, and hard work.

What qualities make a great leader?

A great leader sets the vision and builds trust with the team to achieve their mission together.

Are there any leaders at KeepTruckin that you particularly admire?

I report to Joe Moran, CFO of KeepTruckin, and he is FANTASTIC! He conveys the end state goal on what needs to be accomplished, listens to everyone’s feedback, trusts and gives freedom to be creative and solve problems, and challenges us to think beyond our immediate responses.

If I could learn to do anything, what would it be?

Learn to sing. I am a terrible singer and cannot carry a tune for the life of me!

If you were an owner/operator of a transportation company, what would you want to transport?

Ice cream :) My husband and I have a 4yr old and ice cream is his favorite food. The look on his face when the back of the truck opens to see cartons of ice cream, with a side of sprinkles, would be priceless!
